Bible Text

Now these were the sons of David, who were born to him in Hebron: the firstborn, Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second, Daniel, of Abigail the Carmelitess;

Hebron was David’s first royal center in Judah, where the sons listed here were born before he reigned in Jerusalem. Jezreel, Carmel, and Geshur identify the homelands of their mothers, while Jerusalem marks David’s later capital, underscoring his expanding kingdom and family alliances.
