Bible Text

Their possessions and habitations were Bethel and the towns of it, and eastward Naaran, and westward Gezer, with the towns of it; Shechem also and the towns of it, to Azzah and the towns of it;

These towns marked Ephraim’s settlements and sphere of influence: from the central hill country around Shechem, Bethel, and Beth-horon to key western and northern sites such as Gezer, Megiddo, and Beth-shan. The verse locates Ephraim’s descendants within the land God allotted to Israel, though some named towns were contested or later occupied by other peoples.
