Jezreel was a royal city in the northern kingdom of Israel, where Naboth lived and owned the vineyard Ahab coveted; its elders and citizens carried out Jezebel’s scheme against him. Samaria was Israel’s capital, from which Ahab and Jezebel exercised royal authority over Jezreel.
