Jezreel was a royal city in the northern kingdom of Israel, where Naboth’s vineyard lay beside Ahab’s palace; it is the site of Ahab’s unjust seizure of the property after Naboth’s death. Samaria, Israel’s capital, was Ahab’s usual seat of rule, underscoring that he went from the capital to take possession of land obtained through judicial murder.
