Samaria was the capital of Ahab’s northern kingdom of Israel, where he ruled; Jezreel was a royal city and valley northwest of Samaria. Elijah was sent from Samaria to confront Ahab at Jezreel over Naboth’s vineyard, exposing the king’s injustice and God’s judgment.
