Jezreel was a royal city in the fertile Jezreel Valley, where Ahab’s seizure of Naboth’s vineyard brought Elijah’s judgment. Samaria, Ahab’s capital in the central highlands of Israel, was the seat of his dynasty; God’s announced judgment therefore concerned both his personal house and kingdom.
