Jezreel was a royal city in the fertile Jezreel Valley, where Naboth’s vineyard lay beside Ahab’s palace and where Ahab sulked after Naboth refused to sell it. Samaria, the capital of Israel’s northern kingdom, was the center of Ahab and Jezebel’s rule, from which royal power would be used to seize the vineyard unjustly.
