1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;

Although Babylon is not named in verse 6 itself, it appears later in the chapter as the place from which Peter writes. Many interpreters understand “Babylon” as a symbolic name for Rome, highlighting the church’s life as an exiled people under worldly powers.
