Mount Gilboa overlooks the Valley of Jezreel in northern Israel, where Saul and Israel fell before the Philistines. The Philistines carried Saul’s body to Beth-shan near the Jordan, while men from Jabesh-gilead east of the Jordan later recovered it; Philistia was their coastal homeland.
