He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead: and the Syrians wounded Joram.

Jerusalem was Judah’s capital, from which Ahaziah ruled; Samaria was Israel’s capital, ruled by Joram. Ramoth-gilead, east of the Jordan in Gilead, was contested with Syria; Ahaziah joined Joram there, and Joram was later wounded and recovered at Jezreel near Ramah.
