Zion, the City of David in Jerusalem, was the site of Solomon’s temple, where the ark was brought into the Most Holy Place. The tablets inside recalled God’s covenant made after Israel’s exodus from Egypt at Mount Horeb, grounding temple worship in his covenant faithfulness.
