Riblah, in Hamath on the Orontes River, was Nebuchadnezzar’s military headquarters, where Judah’s leaders were executed after Jerusalem’s fall. Babylon and Chaldea identify the imperial power behind the judgment, while Jerusalem, Jericho, Mizpah, Egypt, and the Arabah mark Judah’s shattered political and geographic setting.
