Baal-hazor, likely in the Ephraim hill country north of Jerusalem, was the site of Absalom’s sheep-shearing feast and Amnon’s murder. Jerusalem was David’s royal center, while Geshur, northeast of Galilee, was the kingdom of Absalom’s maternal grandfather, where he fled after the killing.
