Baal-hazor, likely in Ephraim north of Jerusalem, was the site of Absalom’s sheep-shearing feast and Amnon’s murder. Geshur, a small Aramean kingdom northeast of Israel, was Absalom’s refuge with his maternal grandfather, while Jerusalem remained the royal center from which he was exiled.
