Geshur was a small Aramean kingdom northeast of Israel, where Absalom had fled after killing Amnon; Tekoa, south of Jerusalem, was the home of the wise woman Joab used to influence David. Jerusalem, David’s royal city, became Absalom’s place of return but not yet restored fellowship.
