From the Mount of Olives near Jerusalem, Jesus had commissioned the apostles to witness in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and beyond; Galilee was their home region and the setting of much of Jesus’ ministry. In Acts 1:13, their return to Jerusalem places them at the starting point of this promised, Spirit-empowered mission.
