He said to them, "You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn't call any man unholy or unclean.

Caesarea was the Roman administrative city on the Mediterranean coast where Cornelius received Peter; Joppa, farther south on the coast, was where Peter stayed before traveling there. Galilee, Nazareth, Judea, and Jerusalem frame Jesus’ ministry and the Jewish setting from which the gospel now reaches Gentiles.
