When Herod had sought for him, and didn't find him, he examined the guards, and commanded that they should be put to death. He went down from Judea to Caesarea, and stayed there.

Jerusalem in Judea was the center of Herod Agrippa’s rule and the place where Peter had been imprisoned; Caesarea, on the Mediterranean coast, was his administrative residence, where he went after the guards’ execution. Tyre and Sidon were Phoenician coastal cities dependent on Herod’s territory for food, explaining their effort to secure peace with him.
