Damascus was the Syrian city where Paul first preached Christ after his conversion; Jerusalem and Judea were the Jewish religious and geographic center from which his ministry was scrutinized. Nazareth, Jesus’ Galilean hometown, identifies the “Nazarene” whom Paul formerly opposed but now proclaims as the risen Messiah.
