After wintering on Malta, Paul’s voyage to Rome stopped at Syracuse in Sicily, then Rhegium and Puteoli in Italy, before continuing via the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns. Alexandria, Jerusalem, and Judea identify the wider Roman-world setting of the grain ship and Paul’s earlier ministry and imprisonment.
