The Beautiful Gate was an entrance to Jerusalem’s temple complex, where the lame man begged and was healed; Solomon’s Portico was a nearby covered colonnade where Peter later explained the miracle. Nazareth, Jesus’ Galilean hometown, identifies the risen Christ whose authority Peter invoked.
