Acts 5:27-29

[27] When they had brought them, they set them before the council. The high priest questioned them, [28] saying, "Didn't we strictly charge you not to teach in this name? Behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood on us." [29] But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men.

Jerusalem was Israel’s religious center, where the temple and Solomon’s Portico provided the setting for the apostles’ public teaching. Galilee, the region north of Jerusalem associated with Jesus and many disciples, is not named in Acts 5:27–29 but forms the broader background of their movement.
