Babylon was the imperial capital of Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom in Mesopotamia, where Daniel lived in exile. Chaldea could refer to the southern Mesopotamian region and, in this context, its learned court officials; God’s revelation to Daniel concerned the king’s dream and spared these wise men.
