Jerusalem was Judah’s capital and the site of the temple, toward which Daniel prayed while living in exile in Babylon. Though not named in Daniel 6:22 itself, it frames Daniel’s covenant loyalty to Israel’s God, whose protection of him before the lions displayed divine faithfulness.
