Egypt was the land where Israel lived under Pharaoh’s oppression, the setting for God’s coming deliverance through Moses and Aaron. Canaan was the land God had promised Israel, and Aaron’s marriage to Elisheba connected him to the tribal family of Judah, which would later be central in that promised land.
