All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up, when they of the captivity were brought up from Babylon to Jerusalem.

Babylonia was the land of Judah’s exile, from which the temple vessels were returned; Persia was the empire ruled by Cyrus, who authorized their restoration. Jerusalem, Judah’s covenant city and the temple’s location, was the destination of these vessels as exiles returned to rebuild worship there.
