Beer-lahai-roi lay in Canaan’s southern wilderness, between Kadesh-barnea, an oasis region on the edge of the Negev, and Shur, the desert frontier toward Egypt. Its location marks the place where Hagar encountered the Lord after fleeing Sarai, memorializing God’s seeing and care.
