Egypt was the land where Joseph had been sold into slavery and later imprisoned after false accusations in Potiphar’s household. In this Egyptian prison, the keeper entrusted Joseph with responsibility over the other prisoners, showing God’s continuing favor amid Joseph’s suffering.
