Egypt was the land where Joseph had been sold into slavery and imprisoned, yet it was also the seat of Pharaoh’s court. In this passage, the chief cupbearer’s restoration in Egypt would place him again before Pharaoh, where he could potentially remember Joseph’s unjust confinement.
