Egypt, centered on the Nile’s fertile floodplain, was the land Pharaoh governed and where Joseph advised storing grain against famine. Heliopolis, a major Egyptian religious and administrative center near the Nile delta, reflects the setting of Pharaoh’s court and the kingdom-wide scope of Joseph’s proposed administration.
