The Holy Place and Most Holy Place were the two inner rooms of Israel’s tabernacle, later reflected in the temple: priests served in the Holy Place, while the high priest entered the Most Holy Place annually with blood. Hebrews contrasts this limited access and animal sacrifice with Christ’s once-for-all self-offering, which cleanses the conscience to serve God.
