Jezreel was a city and fertile valley in northern Israel, associated with royal violence and God’s announced judgment on Jehu’s house (Hos. 1:4–5). In this promise of Judah and Israel’s reunification, “the valley of Jezreel” becomes a symbol of reversal: the place of scattering and defeat will witness God’s gathering and blessing.
