Kedar was a region and tribal confederation of nomadic Arab peoples in the northern Arabian Desert, east and southeast of Israel. Its inclusion in Isaiah’s call for rejoicing shows that the Servant’s saving reign summons even distant desert peoples to praise the Lord.
