Capernaum was a fishing town on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus was staying and teaching. Tiberias, a larger city on the lake’s western shore, supplied boats that enabled the crowd to cross toward Capernaum seeking Jesus after the feeding miracle.
