John 6:32-33

Bible Text

[32] Jesus therefore said to them, "Most assuredly, I tell you, it wasn't Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven. [33] For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world."

Capernaum, on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee, was the setting for Jesus’ synagogue discourse after the feeding of the multitude; Tiberias was a nearby lakeside city that gave the sea its later name. These locations frame the crowd’s request for bread and Jesus’ claim that the Father gives the true bread from heaven.
