Galilee was the northern Jewish region from which Jesus and many of his followers came; Jerusalem was Judea’s religious and political center, where Pilate governed. Siloam was a site in or near Jerusalem, and the reported deaths there frame Jesus’ warning that suffering is not proof of greater guilt but calls all to repentance.
