Galilee was the northern region where Jesus ministered and where Pilate had slain certain pilgrims; Jerusalem was the city they were visiting to worship. Siloam was a pool or tower area in Jerusalem, and these tragedies illustrate Jesus’ warning that all must repent rather than presume others’ suffering proves greater guilt.
