Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

Bethphage and Bethany were villages on or near the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives, just east of Jerusalem. Jesus entered Jerusalem from this direction, then went to the temple and returned to Bethany for the night, setting the scene for His deliberate public actions in the following days.
