Mark 11:23

Bible Text

For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and doesn’t doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening, he shall have whatever he says.

Bethany and Bethphage were villages east of Jerusalem on or near the Mount of Olives, the ridge overlooking the city. As Jesus approached Jerusalem during his final week, the mountain and the withered fig tree nearby frame his teaching on faith, prayer, and God’s authority.
