Judea was the Roman province surrounding Jerusalem, where Jesus warns those in its villages and countryside to flee when the “abomination of desolation” appears. The Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, is the setting from which Jesus delivers this discourse, overlooking the city and its temple whose coming judgment he has foretold.
