Galilee, north of Jerusalem, was Jesus’ home region and the place where he had promised to meet his disciples after his resurrection (Mark 14:28). Jerusalem was the city of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection; Nazareth, Jesus’ hometown in Galilee, is not named in this verse but identifies his earthly origin.
