Chorazin and Capernaum were Galilean towns near the Sea of Galilee where Jesus performed many works, yet they largely remained unrepentant. Tyre and Sidon were prominent Gentile Phoenician cities on the Mediterranean coast; Jesus invokes them to underscore the severity of Galilee’s privileged but unbelieving response.
