Caesarea Philippi was a Gentile-influenced city near the sources of the Jordan River, north of Galilee, where Jesus asked His disciples about His identity. Jerusalem, Israel’s religious center, becomes significant immediately afterward as the place Jesus says He must go to suffer, die, and rise.
