From Kadesh-barnea in Paran/Zin, Israel’s scouts surveyed Canaan from the Negeb near Amalek through Hebron, Zoan’s ancient counterpart in Egypt, Rehob and Lebo-hamath toward the Great Sea and Jordan. In the Valley of Eshcol they cut the notable grape cluster, evidence of the land’s fertility and the promised inheritance.
