Ruth 2:20

Bible Text

Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, Blessed be he of Yahweh, who has not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. Naomi said to her, The man is a close relative to us, one of our near kinsmen.

Bethlehem was the Judean town where Naomi and Ruth settled after returning from Moab, the land east of the Dead Sea where Naomi’s family had lived during famine. In this setting, Boaz’s kindness toward Ruth signals God’s covenant care for Naomi’s household within Israel.
