Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse to it.

Bethlehem, also associated with Ephrathah in Judah, is the Israelite town where Naomi’s family returned and where Ruth’s son Obed was born; it later became David’s hometown. Moab, east of the Dead Sea, was Ruth’s homeland, highlighting God’s providential inclusion of a Moabite
