The Bible teaches that God does not abandon his people, even when sorrow, fear, or human loss makes them feel alone. Psalm 34:18 says he is near to the brokenhearted, and Psalm 27:10 assures believers that even if earthly parents forsake them, the Lord will receive them. God repeatedly commands courage because his faithful presence rests on his covenant people, as Deuteronomy 31:6, Joshua 1:9, and Isaiah 41:10 declare. Jesus entered the depths of forsakenness on the cross in Matthew 27:46, bearing judgment for sinners so that all who trust him may hear, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5-6). Nothing can separate them from God’s love in Christ (Romans 8:38-39).
