What does the Bible say about babies?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that babies are precious gifts from God, personally known and formed by him, and worthy of tender welcome, protection, and faithful care. Psalm 139:13-16 and Jeremiah 1:5 testify to God's intimate knowledge of life in the womb, while Psalm 127:3 calls children a heritage from the Lord. Jesus warmly received little children in Luke 18:15-17, Mark 10:13-16, and Matthew 19:14, showing both their value and the humble faith to which all must be called. Parents are therefore urged to nurture children in the Lord's ways, as Proverbs 22:6 teaches, trusting God's compassionate care, pictured in Isaiah 49:15.
