What does the Bible say about being lonely?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that those who are lonely are not abandoned by God: He is present, compassionate, and faithful to sustain His people. He promises, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5), and calls believers not to fear because He is with them (Isaiah 41:10; Deuteronomy 31:6). Though human relationships can fail, Psalm 27:10 declares that the Lord receives His own. God made people for fellowship (Genesis 2:18), and He also meets His children personally, giving peace through Christ (John 14:27). In sorrow and isolation, believers may cast their cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7), trusting the Shepherd who walks with them even in dark valleys (Psalm 23:4).
