What does the Bible say about childrens ministry?

The Bible teaches that children are precious gifts from God, to be welcomed, protected, taught his Word, and nurtured in faith by parents and the covenant community. Jesus receives children gladly and warns against despising even the least of them in Matthew 19:14 and Matthew 18:10. Deuteronomy 6:7 calls parents to teach God’s commands diligently in daily life, while Ephesians 6:1-4 joins children’s obedience with fathers’ responsibility to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Proverbs 22:6 commends purposeful training, and Psalms 127:3-5 celebrates children as the Lord’s heritage. Children’s ministry therefore supports, rather than replaces, the primary calling of parents and the whole church to point children to Christ.
